Are you forced to cancel your holiday?
Cancelling a trip a few days before departure can be very expensive. You’re paying for a holiday you won’t be enjoying; in fact, if you cancel at the last minute, you’ll lose the full cost of your holiday.

Because emergencies arise when youleast expect it, assistance and insurance policies are in place to help you deal with such situations. Going on holiday requires a minimum of precautions before you set off.

Not taking out cancellation insurance is a false economy!
« “But I already have a credit card, etc. ». Only ‘premium’ cards include insurance cover (cancellation, luggage, etc.). These cards, whose cover varies from one bank to another, generally offer less comprehensive cover than standard cancellation insurance policies. Taking out an insurance policy will allow you to effectively supplement the cover included with your card.

With no excess, this insurance offers you maximum cover.
The premium amounts to 9.5% of your rental price, and your holiday in the Vendée will be refunded within 48 hours at the latest.

With its two levels of cover, the new cancellation and assistance insurance from Gîtes de France® Vendée cancellation and assistance insurance allows you to go on holiday to the Vendée with complete peace of mind.

Should any mishaps arise before or during your stay in the Vendée, the insurance will be there to support you, assist you and reimburse you if necessary. 

Situations covered by cancellation insurance (insurance requiring proof)

  • Serious illness (including Covid-19), accident, death
  • Serious damage to your main or second home
  • Accident or breakdown of your means of transport
  • Summoning by an organisation or public authority
  • Redundancy
  • Cancellation of a business trip
  • Suspension of building works
  • Securing a job or a paid work placement
  • Job transfer
  • Change to holiday dates by the employer
  • Transport strike
  • Attack, riot, act of terrorism, pollution, epidemic
  • Any other unforeseen event preventing departure or the performance of planned activities

With this insurance, you are also covered for 

  • Loss and theft of personal belongings, vehicle assistance
  • Assistance services (repatriation, care of minor children)
  • Holiday curtailment cover, which provides a refund for days not spent at the holiday accommodation.

Please note : this insurance can only be taken out for a booking made with the booking agency, either by telephone or online (online). This insurance must be taken out at the time of booking.

What should you do in the event of cancellation?

  • Notify Gîtes de France® Vendée by email.
    You must inform Gîtes de France® Vendée of your cancellation or early departure by email as soon as the event occurs at:
    contact@gitesdefrance85.com. Gîtes de France® Vendée will acknowledge receipt and provide you with a statement of account.

  • If you have taken out Meetch holiday insurance, policy no. 10531 (without supporting documents) or policy no. 10533 (with supporting documents), you maybe reimbursed for these penalties without any excess (excluding the insurance premium and booking fees). Meetch will process the refund once your claim has been assessed.
